Report from the EAACI 2010 Congress in London
Dear friends,
Last week we all had a great time at the EAACI 2010 Congress in London. A special thanks to the EAACI Past President, Tony Frew, the Congress President, for having arranged this Congress, and Christian Virchow, the EAACI Scientific Programme Committee Chair for having coordinated the development of the scientific programme.
The EAACI 2010 Congress was not only enjoyable, but also the largest allergy congress ever organised in the world. Size cannot replace quality, but at this instance I think these two variables matched-up well.
EAACI is not only providing opportunities for communicating science at its large Annual Congress, but is also arranging several Mini-Congresses each year. This year, ISMA, ERAM/SERIN and SAM are taking place: ISMA 2010 (International Symposium on Molecular Allergology) 29-31 October 2010 (www.eaaci-isma2010.com). ERAM/SERIN 2010 (European Rhinitis and Asthma Meeting/Symposium on Experimental Rhinology and Immunology of the Nose) 4-6 November 2010 (www.eaaci-eram-serin2010.com). SAM 2010 (Skin Allergy Meeting) 11-13 November 2010 (www.eaaci-sam2010.com). I strongly recommend that you try attending at least one of these meetings, as they are a different style than the Annual Congress, and they also increase the opportunity to interact among attendees and with faculty.
Best regards,
Jan Lötvall
EAACI President
